Question What now.

Ok my PC is done and all the parts are put together, now how do I get the computer to be a computer. Do I just pop in my windows OS CD-ROM and fallow the on screen directions or do I have to go and do some thing with the Bios and a boot up floppy disk or some thing. And what is RAID 0, I don’t have to set it up because I have only one hard drive, right. And what do I do with my hard drive to get it ready for the startup.

I have a ASUS P5B Deluxe LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard.

(If you need any other info just post the questions)

Thank you for all your help!!!

Go into the BIOS setup and make sure your CD drive is the FIRST boot device.

Then you can pop in the OS CD... boot from it and begin with the installation of the OS.

You will be prompted to partition the hard drive... then format it... then continue with the installation of Windows.

Raid 0 is a basically a setup where the system will recognize more than one hard drive as a single logical drive. You can read more about raid here: http://www.pcmech.com/article/raid-your-guide/

Don't worry about RAID, probably can disable it in the BIOS.
In the BIOS you need to make sure that a CD/DVD drive is set for first boot device then put in the Windows CD into the drive and reboot the PC. Windows install should open after the BIOS screen. One of the screens may ask to install mass storage device drivers, you can skip that. The next screen should be asking to formay a HD, select yes to make a new parition and then select a new install. After that, just let it run until it asks for a name and/or COA code from the sticker.

Blue Screen Help

I finished my build. I entered my BIOS successfully and changed the boot device to CD ROM. I restarted the machine with the Windows XP upgrade CD in the drive. It asked for my original CD, so I put in the Windows 2000 CD. I had it format my drive...then when it was done formatting, I got the blue screen: Stop: 0x0000007B. I only have one SATA hard drive in the machine and it is brand new. Help is appreciated.

Please start your own thread for this problem. This thread belongs to laracroftlover.

Also, when you start your own thread please tell us the complete system specs for this computer. List the parts by brand and model including the power supply.
