Smile Heatsink Fan Question

Okay. I'm pretty sure the fan on my heatsink/fan just broke. So can I just take it off and use the heatsink only? Will it cool it down enough? Or do I definitely need the fan as well.

Why to you say it is broken?

If the fan is dead... you will need a replacement. The heatsink by itself will not be enough to keep the CPU temps low.

Haha...your going to laugh..

I had the computer on just for watching purposes, paitiently awaiting my new motherboard in the mail today.. and my finger got caught in the fan, and snapped a few blades and sliced the finger pretty well.. And I was making sure the heatsink was installed properly..while it was on. Not the best idea.

But hey. At least its a 40 dollar mistake and not 200. Thanks though. Haha

man what a day..

Ouch!

Yep... you going to need to get a replacement CPU heatsink & fan.

Hope your finger is okay.
