Post Raid 0 -- More Ram -- Vista 64-bit Ultimate (Suggestions???)

This weekend I'm going to be doing a bit of 're-building' to my PC. I have already bought the parts and am wondering if anybody has any suggestions for me before I do it.

Here is my task list:
1) Obtain all drivers, and software for Vista 64-bit: DONE!
2) Obtain Programs I wish to install: DONE!
3) Run WD Diags, and Memtest:
4) Remove X-Fi and other Non-essential components:
5) Install 2nd Raptor
6) Setup RAID 0:
7) Disable On-Board Sound:
8) Install 2nd Set of 2Gb (1gb x2) Corsair
9) Install Vista Ultimate 64-bit:
10) Install drivers:
11) Install KaSperSky 6.0
12) Run Windows Update
13) Add X-Fi and Non-essential components:
14) Install drivers and software:
15) Make sure everything is running smoothly:
16) Install Programs:
17) Make sure everything is running smoothly:
18) Run Memtest, then Orthos 2004

Any Suggestions or Changes?

Also...How do I save my Company of Heroes files so that I don't lose all my info...I don't want to have to re-beat the game, and earn all the medals again???

I am also going to be doing this checklist soon:

1) Figure out what water cooling system I want:
2) Buy the water cooling system:
3) Install the water cooling system:
4) Overclock!

I could use some help on the system though, so please help me with that here:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I personally think a RAID 0 setup generally not worth it in most cases.

But... looks like you are all set to go though.

Or... you can build a new computer hehe... just kidding!

Yeah... I guess if you have the drive already and the motherboard has RAID capabilities... go for it!

Avoid Raid, I have two raptors drives and when I set it up for raid I thought cool. But when things went wrong and I had to do it all over again I just went and set it back to normal...

The problem with Raid 0 is that you essentially put all your eggs in one basket. One drive goes, they both go. There's no redundancy, there is no safety net.

I used RAID back in the day when it wasn't so popular -- IDE ATA/66 RAID 0 to be exact. While it was nice, after a couple months one of the drives became corrupted and I had to reinstall Windows. Turns out the drive had gotten bad sectors. A couple months later, the same thing happened again. After that point I quite using RAID, and haven't since.

What others have said is correct -- with RAID 0 there is no redundancy, so keep that in mind. Plus, I don't think you'll see that much improvement in terms of "real life speed" by raiding two 150GB raptors. If you are into video editing and the like and need the speed, then by all means consider it.

Pretty much, it was not long after it was up and running.. Lost all files on the other drive..That is why I won't do a raid set up again.
