CPU fan compatibility?

Hey guys,

Just registered today, looking to build my own PC and came upon this site. Now I have a quick question about some fan/heatsink compatibility with this processor I'm looking at.

Proccessor is..

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 2.66GHz
http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.p...ctID=8656&SID=

which is an LGA775 Socket correct?

Now I'm looking at a fan/heatsink to get but many say Socket LGA775 but for P4 and I don't know if it'll work on a Core 2 Duo processor even though it is LGA 775?

Here's an example..
http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.p...ctID=5953&SID=

--It says Compatibility: Intel P4 LGA775

Now will this still work with the processor I am looking at? I'm curious because there's one fan that says LGA775 and lists off the Core 2 Duo as being compatible..
http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.p...ctID=9496&SID=

but none others says the Core 2 just, P4, Pentium D, etc..

Hope you guys understand what I mean, and thanks for any help.

They will work, but if you don't want to void your warranty the stock heatsink/fan will be just fine..

I was interested in overclocking so thought it might be good to get a decent fan/heatsink for it.

Still stick with the stock one?

Yup I wouldn't over clock myself. I have tried it and personally it is not worth the time or headace.. If you do something wrong,it could cost you more money to replace parts than it is worth getting out a few extra mhz from you processor.
