New build, need confirmation on my parts...

Im goin wit
MachSpeed MSNV-939 NVIDIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2.0GHz OEM Processor

Video Card: SAPPHIRE 100559VIVO Radeon 9200 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X VIVO Video Card

HD: Seagate ST3200822A-RK 200 GB ATA Internal Hard Drive (already bought)

RAM: 1GB Corsair PC3200 400MHZ (already bought)

Will this work? Can I use a VivoCard with this motheboard setup? Also, is there any other motherboard below this one that is just as good? Or any motherboard thats good with onboard video? Thanks!

PCmech Rocks!!!

I would not suggest you get the MachSpeed motherboard. Just remember you get what you pay for.

Go with an ASUS brand motherboard... they are time tested and stable boards.

Just a wild guess also... but are you ordering for TigerDirect? If so... I would suggest you find another place... they have a really bad track record and most people would NOT recommend them.

NewEgg.com is what most people on the boards here use.

I would also suggest DDR2 memory and a SATA HDD but it looks like you already bought them... so you will need a good board that supports them.

Why are you building a new computer with old technology? Looking at those parts it's like you're building a 3 year old computer instead of a modern one.

What are you going to be doing with this computer?

not looking to use a sata cable or anything...and for a $139 bucks it better be a good motherboard...
and memory is not up for bargaining...after all its ddr3200

as for brand names, ive read a 1,001 "reviews" and everyone seems to have their own opinion on every brand out there...

I can't help but agree with Cricket on that one. ATA connected hardwares are supposed to be troublesome with many motherboards, so you are already asking for trouble with that.

PC3200 ram is rather outdated, already AMD X2 CPU are able to take advantage of DDR2-800 and you are using DDR-400. So that will create a bottleneck there.

Then, you plan on buying a DX8 GPU, is it this card ? You have to understand that you get what you pay for. What exactly are you looking to do with your computer ? play games ? then you should get a better GPU like the 7600 GT.

I'm not sure what your mobo's specs are since I can't find it on newegg, but you could get the Asus M2N-E for cheaper or the M2N for even less. Not sure what kind of reviews you are talking about, but if you mean reviews off of sites like Newegg or other stores, I would pay little attention to those. You come here to ask for an advice, if you do not really want to hear what we have to say...

Then, the X2 CPU, well that is a good one, its on budget side, but it still performs quite well, but I suggest getting a retail copy instead as the warranty will be for 3 years and you won't have to fuss with buying other parts.

So, with that you could get some DDR2-800 RAM such as 1gb of G Skill for 60$ or 2gb of G Skill

Then you will definitively need a case and a PSU, I'd suggest getting an Antec Sonata II as it has a decent PSU included with the quality case. Don't go cheap on the PSU otherwise it might end up costing you more than you'd want.

Anyway, this is just a little bit of info to think it through.

I would suggest these parts. For a budget.

E4300 cpu $114.50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115013

Asus p5b mobo $119.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131030

7600gs $84.99 ($64.99 after rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130075

Antec Solution case with 350w power-supply $79.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129150

Ram corsair 1GB (2 x 512MB) $49.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145568

Sata Lite-on burner $33.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106046

Total=$484
This will make a pretty good computer, that will be mostly upgradeable for the future.

That ASUS board is okay... but I don't believe it has a AGP slot which means the video card you have picked out in your first post will not work with it.

You will also need a CPU heatsink & fan since the processor you listed in OEM. I would suggest getting a retail boxed version since it comes with the heatsink & fan and a good warranty.
