ICH Temperature

All my motherboard temps seem fine (proc-high 40's-low 50's, motherboard in the 30's) but ICH (I think that's southbridge) was up at 63 last time I checked. What is a southbridge doing at 63? Still, it stays in the 60's so I have reason to believe it's fine, maybe normal. It just seems off.

I'm not sure what the normal chipset temperatures are but your other temperatures look fine.

If you system is running stable then I would stop worrying about it.

The ICH (I/O Controller Hub or southbridge) does quite a bit of work so it's understandable that it'll get kinda hot. See the attached diagram showing what each chip (MCH - Memory Controller Hub or northbridge and southbridge) in the chipset does.

How does a person know what the different temps are in their system??? I know you can download programs to tell you, but is there something in a computer that tells you???

If your computer is running nice and smooth then it's not overheating.

If your computer isn't running smoothly but is running sluggishly, reboots or shutsdown when pushed, freezes or locks up when pushed, then it's overheating.
