motherboard help!

Hay all.

i was going to get a bundel deal from overclockers.co.uk

Intel Core 2 DUO LGA775 E6600 2.40GHz Retail / Asus P5B Deluxe / 2GB GeIL PC2-6400C4 DDR2 Dual Channel Kit - Bundle

but i got a bit more money now i was thinking would it be better to a get a motherboard that can use quad core so it will still be good later down the line? i bin looking around and some ppl say the asus p5b deluxe is old tech now.

i have seem some motherboards that look good ( but i cant really tell)

i am still getting E6600 cpu but i am not sure what ram would work with them motherboards?

i am looking for 2 gig but not for overclocking.

P5B Deluxe supports quad core, and is proven reliable. It's a few months old, but nothing that's going to cramp your upgrade options down the road.

gothicghost is, going by his post, a gamer.
So, Supreme Commander it is ( with BioShock and Stalker in the wings and, maybe, Oblivion on the side.).
He's got more tech then he needs unless he's into serious video as well but use expands to fill what works ( and don't I know! ).

Well as this is my second pc ( my last is 4 years old now only upgraded the GPU & PSU)

I want it to last for along time again hehe .

I will be gaming machine only really.

I don't think i will overclock the cpu/ram as never done it before and i wish to play it safe lol.

So i just want a good motherboard that can handle quad core just in case i upgrade to it later.

so should stick with the P5B Deluxe? or get a Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680 or any other?

Stick with the P5B. From a stability standpoint, your best bet is an intel chipset with an intel processor. The Striker Extreme is an nVidia chipset....

The P5B or the P5B deluxe will be good for awhile. They both support the Quad Cores so I would go with one of those depending on the features you need.
