It's a Miracle

Wow, I just got done with the build and it was much easier than expected. Windows is installing now so hopefully everything will turn out okay. There were a couple of things that I wasn't sure of.

My case is the Antec 180B and MB is ASUS P5B. There is a Power LED connector on the case but I can't find where to put it on the MB. Does anyone know where it goes? I looked through the manual and don't see it. After Windows installs I'll let you know if there are any problems. Thanks for all the help.

It's not over yet. lol

Once Windows is installed and all the usb ports, speakers, etc work then I'll be happy. I guess the hard part is done though. Still can't figure out where to plug in the power led.

It should be in the same bank of pins where the hard drive led, power switch, and reset switch connectors went.

You're right it is there. It was throwing me off because it looks like it has three slots but only 2 pins on the board. Once windows is done, I'll hook that up.

Glad to help, and don't worry about it. A LOT of people get thrown because the name abbreviations on the case connectors and the motherboard pins never match quite right. Try connecting USB headers where you have loose connectors like the case connectors rather then one solid block. That's 10 times worse. Not hard exactly if you think about it for a minute, but real annoying.

Well, Windows finished loading about 12:45am and everything looks fine. I need to hook up the power led and do something with all these cables. Also, I have to unscrew the mb and reposition it because their is something blocking one of the usb ports on the back from the faceplate. Shouldn't be a problem though. The SATA drives sure do make things easier than the old days. I never built a machine before but I have installed cd-rom and hard drive and SATA is so much easier. Also, when you have quality components, instead of junk things just work right when they are all together. Thanks for the advice.

I dont know about the 180B but I have the 182 tower and you can run all the power cables from the supply behind the motherboard inbetween the metal plate and side of the case. It makes for a lot of room inside the case and tons of airflow. Try it out I don't know if this was a new feature with the new case but they look pretty much the same so I think it will work for you.
