Weird problem
I just built my comp, and I installed XP and everything was ok, but now when the Welcome screen appears and than the desktop screen appears for a second, it goes to the screen where it says Preparing to stand by and the screen goes blank, black with nothing on it, but everything is running.....
Does anyone know this problem? Please HELP!!! Thanks ale Last edited by jhebi; 05-18-2007 at 07:00 PM. |

What are the complete system specs for this computer? List the parts by brand and model including the power supply.
List all the software you've installed so far. Does this happen in Safe Mode too? Cricket

If I was you I would reformat , deleting the partition and start fresh , Install your software slowly once your up and running so you can tell what software is corrupting your operating system.

Biostar NF61S Micro 754 512mb memory (will upgrade soon) 200gig Maxtor Hard Drive Hercules 500W PS Optical drive - Memorex dvdrom/cdrw And this is the 2nd time I installed Windows XP. The first time the same thing happened, so I deleted everything and than reinstall a fresh XP OS, and after I installed all the drivers from the cd that came with the motherboard, I restarted and than it goes to that screen, preparing to stand by, and the screen goes black with nothing, but everything is running. i try to press ESC or click the mouse, but nothing. Any Help? Thanks |

Thee drivers that you installed must be causing the problems for you...
See if you can download the newest drivers from the BIOSTAR website and install them instead. http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdownloa...%20MICRO%20754 You may have to do another clean install of Windows first. |
