memory slots on my mobo

I have this mobo http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&sku=M450-2402 and have 1g of ram with two sticks of 512 , is there a specific way the ram needs to be on the mobo in order for it to work. I have 4 slots ……. !!

See page 10 of your manual and apply per the RAM type you have.

Put the two 512 in the two green slots... then the 1GB in one of the white ones.

That configuration in not in the manual sdkfz provided... but see it it works... otherwise follow manual.

Let me rephrase that , I have two sticks of 512 . Both making up to 1g of ram on my system. Do I still just put them in the two green slots. I think that’s how its generally done, Iv been looking at some set up systems at this store and that’s how they have there’s.

You need to put them in slot 1 and 3 the two green ones

Yes put them in the TWO green slots so you can take advantage of the DUAL CHANNEL feature which will give you a small added performance boost out of your memory.
