First-timer build.

Hello there, this is my first time building a computer and I'm looking for advices and answers on whether these parts can even run together.

Case: Thermaltake Soprano Black W/Window w/o PSU ATX&MicroATX 126$
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=21415
PSU: OCZ 520 Watt Model: OCZ52012U EU 128$
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...oducts_id=2526
Mobo: Asus p5W DH deluxe ATX 240$
http://www.getmore.dk/templates/imw-...ctedGroup=3510
CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600 282$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115003
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ES 320gb Serial ATA-300 108$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148215
RAM: Corsair XMS2 Xtreme Performance TwinX Matched-Memory-2 GB(2x1GB) 215$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590
Graphicscard: Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 388$
http://www.computerne.com/p/221411.htm
Extras: Dvd writers and readers from old computer, thinking about using the onboard sounds as I could not find many good soundcards except for the Creative X-FI Fatal1ty which is over the budget of 1500$

Note: some of the websites linked are in danish, the important stuff is in english though!

Do you plan on overclocking?

If not... get the regular ASUS P5B motherboard... as for the memory... go with DDR2-667... and look at the Corsair ValueSelect lineup.

And... why don't you just buy everything from one place? It probably will save you money on shipping.

I suggest you stay away from the older OCZ Modstream series, they had a high failure rate and just weren't all that stable. I would try to find a Corsair HX 520W.

You could save money by going with the P5B if you dont have plans for crossfire or any other specific use for the P5WDH.

I would opt for a non-ES drive, thats Seagates server series. Get a 7200.10 with 16mb cache and SATA 3GB/S.

Onboard sound should be fine.

Is that the one you're mentioning?

As for the Seagate HDD I think I might have found what you were saying, http://www.computerne.com/p/146817.htm - yes?

The regular doesn't support Core 2 Duo? 'Processor:Intel Celeron / Pentium 4 / Pentium D

I can't find a Corsair Value Select 2gb for pc6400 - What's wrong with my current one?

On the Powersupply-Yes thats the one.

On the Hard-disk, no not exactly, that is the IDE version of the drive, you want the SATA interface version.
This-http://www.computerne.com/p/146818.htm

I think thats a typo. The P5B does support Core 2 Duo. Infact, the chipset on the P5B (965), was specifically released just for Core 2 Duo.

Your current memory is ok. But the DDR2 667 will save you money. Look for Corsair Valueselect PC5400.

It does... that website does not have all the specs... go here:
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1...78&modelmenu=2

You don't need DDR2 800... it will not give you any performance boost compared to DDR2 667... the processor FSB will basically bottle neck it... read more here: http://www.directron.com/fsbguide.html

The ValueSelect will have you a bundle which you can pocket or invest it in another component... here is where you can order it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145098

Okay so you suggested me to get another PSU because the one I found was rubbish and would burn down so I follwed you're suggestion and here is the final replacements:

New Motherboard: http://www.expressdelivery.dk/asp/in...mainfunc=link&

New PSU: http://www.expressdelivery.dk/asp/in...mainfunc=link&

And finally, new RAM: http://www.computerne.com/p/163587.htm

Are these correct? Will all the parts that I mentioned @ my first post and this fit together as a whole, without any problems?

Thanks for the answers, really helped alot.

Edit: Infact, replacing these parts has saved me 126$ to get a soundcard, any suggestions?

That is the correct speed RAM, but that is a laptop chip. It will not fit in your system.

This is the RAM you want: http://www.computerne.com/p/144306.htm

As for the soundcard, we recommend trying the motherboard's onboard sound first. Its good for most people. You can always add a card later. If you do, the Creative X-Fi is popular.
