No display cable?
So i bought all the necessities (CPU, motherboard. ect...) but no monitor becuase i am going to hook it up to me 32" TV which has PC input...well i was assuming that the motherboard or video card came with a display cable to hook up my PC to the TV but it doesn't...
So do display cords only come individually and with nex monitors? Or am i missing something here? |

It's always the monitor that comes with the video cable, not the video card. Your video card might have come with an S-Video cable for TV connection. It won't be as clear as VGA or DVI. but you should at least be able to get going with it. In the long run you'll want to order a cable.

Check the manual for your TV before purchasing a cable. Some TV's come with a PC input (VGA) and an HDMI input and you'd think the HDMI would offer better picture clarity than the VGA. However, my Samsung lcd manual specifically states that you CANNOT connect a pc to the HDMI connector and must use the VGA as the pc input. I had already purchased the HDMI/DVI cable based on the TV salesman's recommendation when I discovered this little known item in the Samsung manual. I returned the cable and informed the dept manager so the staff could be informed and prevent others from experiencing the same issue.

This of course is only an issue with HDMI and wouldn't be a problem if you have a DVI input (a lot do these days along with HDMI and VGA). Good heads up Panama Red. Didn't know that.
