Fledging game machine build

Hey, I'm throwing together a gaming machine with a budget around $1300 (about $300 set aside for a monitor, keyboard, mouse...) - going for something good, but not cutting edge.

Just to start with I'm trying to pick out the MoBo, CPU, and GPU that will be running this thing.

GPU: EVGA 7900 GS KO
I actaully have this part, so unless anyone has some serious horror stories - this guy is in.

CPU: AMD 64 X2 4600+ Windsor, or AMD 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane
The Brisbane is $130, $15 more than the Windsor. Normally I would go for the Brisbane, but I've heard that it has some performance issues compared to the Windsor.

MoBo: "something" with an nForce 570/590 SLI chipset
I can get an 590 from EVGA for $100 on the low end, or an ASUS 570 for $130. Other makers are somewhere in between. But, the price is close enough I just want what is better - a newer chipset or a bigger brand?

Comments on performance, compatiablity, value . . . whatever comes to mind?

Thanks

Why don't you go with a Core 2 Duo build instead?

I would stick with the ASUS brand personally... the video card is fine since you already have it. You can always upgrade down the road if you find it does not perform up to par.
