New build for Recording
Hello
I have been focusing on some older stuff because # 1 Iv been helping people out by building cheep systems that they can afforded. Mainly for friends and family! But what im doing is every time I sell a system I save the profit towered what Im going to build for myself. Iv had a Dell 8250 for about 4 or 5 years that’s a Pentium 4 TH 3.06 witch was hot back then. What would you recommend my personal system to be based from, I have about $650 now but should have more on this next build im selling. Im mainly looking to use it for music music and more music ! With a DJ program and some editing software for recording , Professionally!!!!!! This Dell has been doing the job but Im thinking 4g of ram with a due core sounds about right. Socket 775 , Any input on quality parts you could recommend would be well appreciated!!!!!!!!! Thanks again |

Look at the ASUS P5B lineup of motherboards.
Here is one I would suggest: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131030 4GB of memory... if you want to utilize that full amount... go with a 64-bit version of Windows. The Corsair ValueSelect or XMS2 lineup is good. Get DDR2-667... that is all you need if you don't plan on overclocking. Here is a nice power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139001 Here are some good video cards... pick one that fits your budget: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...1921&name=EVGA And here is the processor most people put in their builds these days: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...1921&name=EVGA |

I think minsonngo meant this processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115003
If you're not gaming (Which it doesn't sound like you are) the video card doesn't have to be very expensive. Lots of ram and a dual core processor should do you just fine. Also, the XMS2 ram is DDR2800....faster than you need, and designed for overclocking. Nothing wrong with that, but it's more expensive than the Corsiar valueSelect DDR2 667.

You guys are great !
Thanks for the input . That processor looks like a fast little bee compared to how iv been building, I cant wait to get it together for myself. So I plan on using an ASUS like MINSONNGO is suggesting. Any socket 775 ASUS mobo is good quality for a duo core or just particular ones, I’m a big fan for looks and like my cases to show a glass with a little light and stuff and I wanted my mobo to show some cool colors , I seen one mobo with a cool fire design on it dos ASUS make any quality mobos with something like that… |
