I am thinking about building another PC.
It has been quite a while (7+ years) since I have built my first PC. Things sure have changed since then.
I am wanting to build a computer that will be able to run a certain game when it comes out later this year. The requirements are as follows. Requirements A 1gHz or better CPU, 512MB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce 3 or better, and a broadband connection. We recommend a 2gHz or better CPU, 1GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce FX or better, a Soundblaster Live! or better, surround sound system, and a broadband connection. My question is about how much can I expect to spend on a system that can support this? I am going to need new everything I am thinking. Most mother boards that I have seen have gone to the SATA instead of IDE. So I may need to replace my hard drives. I have also seen a few boards out there that have 1 IDE slot on them, so I may be able to use my hard drives with those correct? Since I have not been in the building a newer PC mode in a while, what woulnd be the best board, memory, processor, etc. I would also like to keep this near or as close to a budget build if possible. If more info is required, please let me know. Thanks, Kas |

Those requirements aren't too high so you could probably build a computer to play that specific game for less than $1000 easily. Just how much were you looking to spend?

About that much or less.
No more than 1000 though. |

Lets go with AMD
I would also like to stay with the Raedon series graphics cards if possible. But could switch to NVIDIA if they are better |

If you stick with Nvida... go with the EVGA 8000 series of video cards.
