hey guys im new here.. my new pc that i just built a month ago is having a problem that seemed to get worse to where it now wont beep or doing anything at startup but everything is runing inside n lite up. this is my setup:
Asus P5n32-e SLI mobo E6600 conroe 2.4ghz C2D 4gb crucial ballistix ddr2 1066 evga 8800gts vcard640mb thermaltake psu 700watt thermaltake kandolf lcs(liquid cooling case) 2 lite-on optical drives 1floppy drive This is what happened.. i was playing flight simulator x and then the comp. froze.. no biggie i restarted it then it froze on startup.. so i restarted it again then it just kept freezing quicker n quicker.. i would barely be able to get into bios and change things before it freezes again.. so i moved the jumper pins to cleartc to set the bios at default.. rebooted n still nothing.. now i dont even get a beep at startup.. i called asus technical support and after removing all but one memory stick, restarting with no help.....and then taking all out still the same problem.. so the guy said either my motherboard is defective or my cpu has gone bad... any help guys would be appreciated. from rearing other threads i think im gonna redo ther AC5 dressing a lil less than it is now.. i could have put too much.. but when my cp wa running good for 2-3 weeks the cpu temp was at 29c with 32c being the highest it would go, so i dunno redoing the AC5 will help but i'll give it a try. It sounds like a overheating issue to me.
If that is not the case... I would try another PSU. I see you tried leaving in only one stick of memory. Have you tried this with each stick one at a time to see if the issue goes away? |

Ya I would change your PSU before you do anything because Im experiencing an issue now where my PSU made my hole computer go bad. I cant stress it enough how important it is to have a good PSU in your system. It eventually burned up my MOBO and looks like now my processor.

Could have burnt something out....but I doubt that. Try using a PSU you 'know' works.

The LGA775 heatsink is difficult to install correctly if the motherboard is already mounted in the case. Here's a good tutorial on installing the LGA775 heatsink correctly: LGA775 heatsink installation
