where to get the cheapest parts

I want to build a pretty good computer. But i want to build it myself.

So, could someone please tell me a list of all the things you must have in a computer like for them to work, and then a better list of things which make it easier to run or work.

Also i live in melbourne Australia, could someone please recommend the best places to get cheap parts.

And also are these places any good, i have been here before, but please list them anyway if they are good.

landmark computers - box hill
CPL - not sure were - computer parts land.

I dont think EYO is the cheapest, for example the motehrboard i just bought for 449 is 458 and that doesnt include the cost of shipping. And i went to an actual store and dont have to pay any excess costs.

i found this one on google:
http://www.pcbudget.com.au/

Heres a list of some good parts for a new build to get you started, if you tell us what you plan to use it for in more detail we can then tweak it. do you have a budget?

Motherboard: Asus Pb5 -
http://www.pcbudget.com.au/products_...CategoryID=772

CPU: C2D E6600 -
http://www.pcbudget.com.au/products_...CategoryID=772

PSU: They dont do corsair PSUs so probably get a thermaltake one..
http://www.pcbudget.com.au/products_...CategoryID=772

Memory: They dont do 2gb in corsair so kingston is your next best bet on their site:
http://www.pcbudget.com.au/products_...CategoryID=772

Case: Any you pick down to personal choice.

Hard Drive: go seagate 7200.10 SATA:
http://www.pcbudget.com.au/products_...CategoryID=772

DVD burner drive: They dont do any SATA ones and you really need a SATA one..

monitor: your choice

Graphics: they dont do 8600 which would be good choice, so go for the 7950 GT

i really doubt you should use this site since they dont do decent brands and have very limited choices for most components, but when i googled it there were 5 or 6 australian websites selling components.

Your never going to find "the cheapest site" because some site a parts for a really great deal, but the others are all over priced.

http://www.newegg.com
http://www.zipzoomfly.com
have pretty good prices
