Memory question

Im getting a new mobo but already have ram. I have DDR2 ram. Will DDR2 ram work with a mobo that dupports DDR. or dos the mobo need to say it supports DDR2 for it to work.

No... DDR2 and DDR are not compatible with each other.


If the mobo you have supports DDR2 modules... you need DDR2 modules. You can not use DDR memory. It will not even fit in the slot correctly. Same thing the other way around also.

Cool thanks !!!!!!! that will direct me the right direction. So other then www.tigerdirect.com where do you guys think I should get this new mobo from! Im starting to not feel tiger direct after my last build.

Just curious... Do you already have a system, or just RAM? I seems like you are gong backward if you want to downgrade to a DDR system.

Use the stock heatsink and fan that comes with the retail boxed processor.

It will allow you to keep the CPU warranty valid.
