What exactly is the issue? Your post was kind of confusing.

Are you trying to install the OS? Make sure you have the CD drive set as the FIRST boot device in the BIOS setup.

What OS are you trying to install? Is this a OS CD you bought or what?

Is the other computer store bought or a custom build? Is the CD a copy or the real thing?

If it is a store bought brand... the OS CD may only work with that particular system.

You will need to buy a new copy of the OS for this new build.

i would say no...its not your current issue, but it probably will be your issue when you post back in a few days.

it sounds like your BIOS aren't configured right.
1) Make sure you primary HDD is pluged into what you BIOS has for the boot drive.
2) make sure the BIOS is configured to make that the boot drive.
