Success!!

This is Awesome! I just got finished with my first solo build and I posted on the first push! I am thankfull for the help that I have recieved in this forum.

I'm only dealing with two small problems at the moment:

HDD working fine and being recognized in CMOS, however, NO HD LED, I'm gonna take a look at the plugs.

Other problem: The system information tab in BIOS CMOS is rating my chip Intel Q6700 extream quad core at 1.6ghz.

Isn't this chip advertised at 2.6ghz??

How can I do a test to diagnose the performance of the chip?

Is it possible that cmos would only see 1.6 but when I view system properties in XP that it will show 2.6ghz?

Lemme know, Thanks!

-Matt

I believe the processor clocks down when not under load... So if you run something intense like a game the processor will also use more power... Power saving technique

But wouldn't it show the full capacity of the chip under system information in cmos?

It showed the maximum amount of memory that I put in, and the maximum amount of space on my hard drive...

So why wouldn't it show the maximum potential of the chip in system information?

Make sure the wires are connected to the proper pins on the motherboard. If so... try turning it around 180 degrees and then plugging it back on to the pins and see if that works.

What motherboard brand and model do you have?

Do you have the optimal settings loaded? Make sure your processor FSB... voltage... and multiplier is set to stock or automatic settings.
