Mobo quuestion

Hello all
I ordered this MOBO http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...=WEBLET101SHIP
and wanted to know if I could use an Intel duo 2 core processor with it. I know its not the best of Mobos but it fits my budget for now. I can always step it up later....

Intel boards are okay.

Yes it will support the Core 2 Duo. But try not to order from TigerDirect.com... they are horrible.

Cool You guys are great so I can basically get any Intel due 2 core processor right. May I ask what due 2 core processor you guys would get in my case. Since it seems like I have a somewhat O.K. mobo I may not wana skimp on this due 2 core processor.

There is nothing wrong with a intel mobo. They are usually the most stable around.

However, that motherboard will only support Core2Duo processors with a 800mhz FSB. So keep that in mind when shopping. That would be the E4500, E4400, E4300, E2160, and E2140.

So Im ready to order this new duo 2 core processor , Im guessing the more Gh it has the better right. like 3.6 would be better then 1.6 Gh . So if I have about $200 to spend what processor would you get in my case. Im looking to play War Craft and have 2G of ram with a video card but always wanted to step up my processor. Any recomendations would be greatfull.

For $200 I would recommend an E6420.

EDIT: Actually I just read the rest of the thread, and like Mr. Ferrari said due to that motherboard you are limited with a 800mhz FSB, so I would get a E4400

Cool Im ordering it now! So is it as easy as taking the old processor out and putting the new one in or is there other risks I should know about. Iv never just changed a processor, I guess Im scared the operation system will act up or something.

Yeah, its easy.

Don't worry, take it slow, and everything will be fine.

...oh and take the mobo out of the case before you take out the processor...

Go to the actual forum page that you want and towards the top left of the screen, there's a blue button called new thread or new topic

Order the Retail cpu and it will come with the heatsink/fan assembly and carry a 3 yr warranty. OEM cpu's are only 1 yr.

OEM warranties can vary, so always check at the time of purchase: many places give 30 days or less...

Ya I did order the one thats on the link above and I seen that it does come with a stock heat sink. So at least I know I cant go wrong with a stock heat sink that comes with the processor but since my mobo can only hold a 800 FSB duo core 2 processor and the processor im ordering is with in that category , Is that still going to be fast.

Yes, C2D processors are very fast.
