Three quick questions

First:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103637
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819112234

I'm pretty sure that the AMD is better, but I'm not sure and just wanted to check with people who actually know what they're talking about.

Second:

A motherboard (for the AMD) I'm looking at is listed as taking DDR2 667 ram. Newegg has both PC2 5300 and PC2 5400 listed as DDR2 667, Do you think the board would take either of these?

Third:

A different motherboard (For the intel) takes single-channel DDR2 533. Would dual channel work with this or should I not risk it? I'm asking because from what I can tell the dual-channel is cheaper.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145526
instead of
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145529 x 2
Would work out nice, but really is not that much of a difference.

Thanks in advance for any help on this

First:
Between those two, yes the AMD is better. However, If you willing to spend more... this will be well worth your money:

Second:
I'm not sure...but i would say yes. (wait for someone to confirm this)

Third:
as long as there is two slots on the motherboard...yes.

Between those two the AMD is the better choice.

You should check with the motherboard manufacturer's web site and see if they have a list of qualified RAM that will work with that motherboard.

Dual Channel DDR is a function of the motherboard, not a type of memory. The Dual Channel kit is just two matched sticks of RAM sold together so people looking to enable the Dual Channel DDR function of their motherboard have a easier time buying RAM.

Thanks for repeating what i said cricket way to make me feel like my post was insignificant and small...

But to the OP: what is the mobo (link would be nice)? I've got too much time and I'll check on the ram for you if you give me the links to them.

I didn't repeat what you posted...if you compare both posts my answers are completely different from yours.

Me: "Between those two, yes the AMD is better."
Cricket: "Between those two the AMD is the better choice."

Me: No Idea
Cricket: Still not sure, but more helpful

Me: "As long as there is two slots on the motherboard...yes."
Cricket: "Dual Channel DDR is a function of the motherboard, not a type of memory. The Dual Channel kit is just two matched sticks of RAM sold together so people looking to enable the Dual Channel DDR function of their motherboard have a easier time buying RAM." (Basically Yes)

...Sorry guys...wasn't trying to start a fight, I was just pointing out how many times we all repeat each other, which is actually good for somebody posting here, and is reasuring. I just find its sometime funny how close the answers are. (...I do it too ) Probably should have brought this up somewhere else though.

Hopefully we have answered all of your questions Rahu.
