When you say you are holding it up in the air, it's out of the case? Like what's outlined here. Double check to make sure you don't have any extra standoffs (and that you do have them installed). Standoffs are those little brass doo-dads that go between the case and motherboard. Note that some cases have raised areas for a few of the holes that serve this function.
Which 4 pin plug are you talking about? The one that goes next the CPU area? It won't run (meaning the computer boots all the way) without it plugged in. Do you have another PSU you can try? Tiger Direct isn't known for always selling quality parts. And typically power supplies bundled with cases (from any vendor) aren't quality. Does the power supply even have a 24 pin main connector (the biggest connector)? Or is it 20 pin? Looking at the picture on TD it doesn't look like the power supply is the right ATX spec. http://images.tigerdirect.com/SkuIma...J-4510-P-h.JPG I'd try the out of case as outlined in the link I posted. Make sure you are using bare minimum parts. If that doesn't help, I'd be looking at trying a better quality power supply. I'd consider replacing the PSU even if it isn't the culprit. I've heard some horror stories when low quality power supplies fail...
