Building new pc
i'm thinking about building a new pc and have been researching all the parts i need as its my first pc i'm building. the thing that is confusing me the most is the difference between sata and pata hard drives. is it more difficult to install a sata drive? i'm thinking about using the asus P5K-E / WiFi-AP motherboard. if i do install a sata hard drive do i need to install sata dvd roms or can i install ide drives with the sata hard drive?

For a new build it's better to get all SATA drives...hard drives and optical drives. IDE is older technology and a thing of the past.
