Computer boots up and then dies after a few seconds. HELP

I have just built my first computer and when I turn it on it starts up and then dies. I have checked all connections and that all the fans work.

Also my computer can't find a suitable boot device even when I change it.

The parts I have are;
Asrock ConRoe945G-DVI Motherboard
Intel pentium 4 Processor
Intel Heatsink Fan
1gb DDR 2 Ram
80gb maxtor HDD
DVI Graphic Card
Sumvision 500w Power X Power Supply
Floppy Disk Drive
CD Drive

That power supply isn't even on our list. You should replace it with something from a more reputable brand.

Are you sure you installed the heatsink/fan correctly? If its dieing on startup how are you able to enter the bios and change boot devices?

It stays on enough to enter the bios but once you enter it, it dies.

Yer I have checked the heatsin/fan.

Thanks for the advice.

Do you have time to enter bios and check the CPU temp? That will tell you if its overheating and shutting itself off.
