First time build, $1000 Canadian Budget
This will be the first pc I have ever built, so I'm not really 100% sure what I am doing
. I picked out these parts so far, I have about a $1000 budget:Logitech S200 2.1 3PC 30W Speaker System OEM SILVER-BLACK W/ Power & Volume Controls $20.61 Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 Dual Core Processor LGA775 1.8GHZ 800FSB 2MB Retail $135.20 BFG GeForce 8500GT 450MHZ 256MB 800MHZ DDR2 PCI-E VGA DVI-I HDTV Out DIRECTX10 Video Card $114.71 Samsung SH-S183L Black SATA DVD+RW 18X8X16 DVD-RW 18X6X16 DL 8X Lightscribe DVD Writer OEM W/ SW $42.90 EVGA Nforce 650I Ultra Conroe LGA775 ATX 1PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 3PCI SATA2 RAID Sound GBLAN Motherboard $128.40 Logitech Deluxe 250 Desktop Black Keyboard & Optical Mouse PS/2 OEM $13.46 Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-5400C4 2GB 2X1GB PC5400 DDR2-667 Cl 4-4-4-12 240PIN Dual Channel Memory $78.00 Western Digital Caviar SE 80GB SATA 7200RPM 8MB Cache 8.9MS Hard Drive $49.76 Logisys CS859SL Silver ATX Case 4X5.25 2X3.5 5X3.5INT 450W W/ Window Front USB & Audio $66.96 Acer AL1706 Ab 17IN LCD Monitor Black 1280X1024 500:1 8MS 0.264MM Analog VGA $177.45 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition 64BIT DVD OEM $132.47 About $1,030 after taxes and shipping How is this? I don't need a crazy hardcore system, I'm not to interested in some of the newer games. I play games like AOE3, AOM, Rome:TW. I'd mainly use it for browsing the internet and some gaming. Is there anything you can recommend for me? I need everything, including operating system, speakers, mouse, keyboard, and the necessary parts. |

Prbablely don't need that much motherboard, would look tothe Asus P5B series or the P5K. For the ram go with the Value Select, The XMS in the 667 is a waste of money.
Would look for a case without a PSU and get a quailty PSU, something in the 450 to 500 watt range. A good PSU in that power range will cost in the $100 range + or - $30. Ones that are included with cases tend to be junk.

Yep I agree with everything that flanzig1 says
Asus are good quality motherboards! Just out of curriosity, what website or store will you be ordering the parts from? Because the guy who built my computer most likely got them from tigerdirect.ca which is very reliable and good for shipping, etc. However, you may want to try canadacomputers or dangeo, because I believe its a little bit cheaper, but how realiable? That is the question..
