LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA DVD-ROM Drive Model SHD-16S1S-05

Go to this web page to figure out which power supply is certified for SLi duty with two 7900GSs. Bookmark the page for future reference.

um... i think i might have made a mistake since mine is not a 7900gtx i went with the other section and it was under that but in the 7900gtx it only supports 650W. i went ahead and just purchased the PSU was that a bad move, i'm not sure if the 7900GTX or GS use the same power. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

You're fine with the Antec 550 watt. It's listed as good for all other SLi setups. The higher watt power supplies are required for the real power hungry video cards...the 7900GS isn't one of them.

I would go with a Segate 7200.10 over the WD. Most cases which come with a psu is not always of good quailty I would suggest one from this list..

DD5, looks like the original poster has already bought the Antec TP Trio 550w. These units are Seasonic made, and as such are of high quality. It's a good choice for that system.

well it turns out that the auction for the PSU was a fake listing but I found an Ultra X-Finity 600W and purchased that because I saw in a Hiper HPU review on newegg a guy raving about how the Hiper sucked and that you should go with Ultra. And thanks for the advice doubledragon5 but I will not be using it because the WD has a larger cache and it has a better newegg rating and also i am a very big WD guy. I know it sounds strange since this is my first BUILD but I have been upgrading PCs for a very long time and the only other drive I used was a Maxtor as my first replacement but I tried a WD after and they haven't let me down since. The only thing better about the Seagate is that it has scarcely faster seek write and latency timings. whew this is a long reply but thats all I wanted to say. But again I'm not throwing you down just replying, and thanks for the help.

You actually buy computer parts through auction?

Well, if you're a Western Digital guy you should be okay with the WD...haven't been hearing of too many problems with them lately.

I would not trust the ultra long term with the two 7900GS cards.

Me neither. I have a Hiper unit powering my main system at the moment - I'd put it in the same tier of quality as the Ultra you purchased - not junk but not brilliant either. Like your Ultra, mine has a high wattage rating (580w), yet I wouldn't be too happy if my system was drawing much more than, say, 450-500w from it. Lower quality units just don't have the ability to put out consistently clean power at the very top of their rated ability. An SLI configuration could/will push the draw into these higher levels. Since you've bought it, my advise would be to use it without too much concern, but replace it if you go SLI.
