This is what i put together before i found this site. mine came out so much cheaper than some of the others i'm looking at though. I do want to play games like WOW. I dont know if i'm way off the mark here so i was wondering if i could get some input on the components i've chose.
Rosewill R6426-P BK ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail ECS GeForce6100SM-M (1.0) Socket AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 6100S Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail Rosewill Stallion Series RD500-2-DB ATX V2.2 500W Power Supply - Retail AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ Brisbane 1.9GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADO3600DDBOX - Retail Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JD 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM (i plan to get an external hard drive to keep movies and music on) MASSCOOL FD08025S1M4 80mm Case Fan - Retail I had Kingston memory picked out but everyone was pretty down on it so i took it out and am open to suggestion. I'm so lost reading about the other new builds. I don't really think of myself as a gamer but i guess i mostly just use my computer to play games. mostly online RPG games like WOW and games like SIM2. Also i'm pretty sure they are all compatible but would like to know if they aren't. i can't reuse any components from my old computer because its going to another person. except maybe the DVD CD ROM which i have to check to see if its compatible. |

What is your exact budget? You arn't going to be able to run many games on that at all with that integrated video. Based on the parts you have picked out, it dosen't look like your going to have the budget to build a decent computer. You may want to consider buying a prebuilt at that price range.

honestly i have no idea what my budget should be i was just going off the recommended sys req. for WOW. i actually feel much more lost than when i started reading this forum.
i found the link to they guy building a $700 gaming computer. http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=182603is that a decent computer? i don't think i play terribly taxing games and plan to save up and build a really good gaming computer in like 3 years. |

Might as well buy it all at once, there may be a weekend deal or two.
