What are you looking to spend including case, psu, monitor, keyboard mouse.. Look at ASUS for boards, they are a top tier manufacture.. Also intel right now out performes AMD...

Cases, monitors, keyboards and mice I have in stock. I'm trying to upgrade to a more up to date system for as little cost as possible. The components I listed are just the one's I want to double check my research on and the cost is just over a C note when the HDD is included. My MAIN concern is the memory. I haven't built a system in over 5 years and back then there was only a few different types of memory. With this DDR stuff I'm finding that it comes in several different configurations. Before I drop $100 on anything I just like to double check myself with someone else.

Thanks
Gene

For ram look to Corsair value select, Hd look to a Segate 7200.10 size up to you.. Are you needing a Video card or do you have one already? If not EVGA are recommended here. Make sure your psu is of good quality and is a ATX 2.0 with the 20+4 connector for the motherboard...

Yep I've got video cards as well but might look into upgrading to one that has a TV tuner on it. I've got a couple of old ATI cards I could use. Thanks for your help. But as far as you can tell from what I had in the original post everything looks like it'll work together right? The main reason I ask is because of the deals on those components can't be beat even by price watch. The mother board originally cost $119 and I found it for $39, CPU is like $14, same for the memory and the HDD I'm looking at is a Maxtor 100gig for $29 Oh and by the way if you have any recommendations for a cheap place to get parts from please pass them along. If I can build a 3Gig system for a couple hundred I'd rather go for the speed. The ONLY reason I'm looking at these parts is because of the price.

What operating system are you going to use? 256MB is a little tight if you're going to use WinXP. And for a Athlon 64 you want PC3200, not PC2700.

Cricket,
Thanks, I didn't post it but the memory would be 256x2 so there would be a total of 512 even adding that I'm still under $125. Looking for another MB though, it looks like I didn't grab it in time and the company MAY be out of that unit. :-(
