Signal not detected on monitor

I am currently doing my first attempt to build a PC and I have encountered a bit of a problem and I don't really know whats causing it. First of all, here are the parts in the PC:

- Centurion Mid-Tower Etx case
- XFX enforce 650i ultra motherboard
- Rosewill rp500-2 500w PSU
- Intel Core 2 Duo e4300 Processor
- Corsair XMS2 DDR2 175mhz RAM
- EVGA 7600GT 256mb video card
- Seagate 320gb 7200rpm hard drive
- 3.5" floppy drive
- 5.25" dvd burner
- Acer 20" LCD monitor

I assembled the computer according to a tutorial somewhere on this site and when I got to the part where I turn it on for the first time, I encountered a problem. When I turn it on, it appears that everything is working, with all the fans spinning, hard drive spinning, dvd drive working, ect. But nothing appears on the screen, it just says "No signal." The cables are correctly attached. Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix the problem?

NOTE: My friend narrated this over the phone, because this computer is not working and he is unable to post it himself, so sorry if there are any mistakes. This note will be removed once he has access to the internet.

Does that video care require power? If so did you connet the power from the psu to the video card. Do you have the 20+4 pin connected on the mb. Try the out of the case build to help trouble shoot your problem. BTW the Rosewill PSU are garbage, which also might be causing some problems.. If the psu isn't providing enough power you will have boot up problems.. You should select a quality PSU from this list. The Rosewill are rated BAD

Are you getting any beeps on start up? If you aren't, then it probably isn't a hardware problem and most likely a cord or connector problem. Also try switching the monitor from analog to digital and back.

Hi,
I had a similar problem myself recently after I upgraded a processor. I bought a cheap graphics card and replaced the one I had in and it worked. So, if possible, you might want to try something similar (or if you happen to have an old one somewhere).
