Bigger budget?

In all seriousness, what do you mean by themed? Alienware, like Dell and Gateway basically offer a range of products ranging from lower price/performace to higher. They just cater to a specific group of consumers (gamers). I'd say they're "theme" is their logo.

Put together a build your own PC with similar specs to any given Alienware PC and I bet you'll find it's cheaper.

Didn't DELL buy Alienware?

I agree with blue60007...a home built computer with similar specs to a Alienware will cost a lot less.

Yes, Dell did buy alienware, but supposedly the tech support and major operations were left alone. Dell just wanted to be able to get some of the profits :-)

I agree with Cricket and blue; for a high performance rig, it's cheaper to build your own.

Aleinware was/is selling their cases on their site for 400 clams a piece. Comes with a 700watt power supply if you really wanted one.......

If you ask me they're just getting rid of stock so they can move to a new design.
