A few questions about power supply

My father computer won't turn on...no noise...no nothing. Someone told them it was the "power pack" and he rushed out and got a "power pack" and of course wants me to put it in for him tomorrow.

My questions are:
Is a power pack---the same thing as the PSU that you have listed here for building a new computer?
Does it go in easy....I've added memory to a computer and a cd burner a few years ago and they were easy enough to put in.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I guess a power supply could be referred to as a "power pack".

The power supply is only held in with 4 bolts. Just undo all the power connections on the inside of the computer and remove the 4 bolts. Just be careful when removing it from the case...you don't want it banging any of the other parts.

Cricket, Thank you very much. That's sound simple enough to do. I just hope it ends up being the problem. Thanks again.

What is the make/model of the new PSU your father bought?
