Pluggin everything in now... questions

1. my case has a "speaker" cable but I don't see a place to plug it in on the motherboard, what do I do with it? Do I need to hook this up?

2. I don't have any need for the onboard "HD audio" so what should I do with the HD-Audio cables that came with the case? Can I just tuck them away somewhere? Or do I need to plug them even though I wont be using them?

3. When pluggin in the front panel cables: The diagram that came with my motherboard was poorly laid out so i can't use it.

Diagram
9
87
65
43
21

9 - NC
8+6 - on/off
7+5 - reset
4+2 - Power LED
3+1 - HD LED

The cables aren't marked with numbers (but are labeled so I know what is what) so I'm not sure if I have the cables upside down. On the underside of each cable is a small arrow near one of the 2 holes I have aligned these so that arrows go with the higher numbers. Doing this makes all of the labels plugs face outward so they can be read... this seems like the right way but is there a way to know for sure? Thanks.

Please specify which motherboard you are using. Also, if you dont need those audio cables then you can just tuck them out of the way. But it would suck if you needed them later after. I mean like a few months later when you buy something new, etc.

Edit: You will know that the cables are upside down if EX: you press power and it doesnt power, Hard Drive activity LED is always on,etc. Basically if the function that the cable should be powering is not functioning, its upside down.

If your motherboard has a on-board piezo speaker you don't need to hook up the case speaker. The piezo speaker is a small black cylindrical object with a small hole on the top.

Tuck them away. No need to plug them in if you aren't going to use them.

Make sure you have the connectors from the front of the case on the correct pins. The connector from the power switch should be on pins 6 and 8. The reset connector should be on pins 5 and 7. These can go on either way...no polarity.

The power LED connector should be on pins 2 and 4 and you have to get this one right or the LED won't light up. If the LED doesn't work just flip the connector 180 degrees.

The HDD LED connector should be in pins 1 and 3. Same thing as the power LED...if the LED doesn't light up, flip the connector 180 degrees.
