Optical burner with P5B board...Help..

I read the help sticky on P5B boards and IDE drives and I'm glad I did. I am still not sure if this DVD bruner here... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151133 will work with my motherboard here... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131030

It will, but you have to deal with 3rd party drivers which is a bit of a hassle. You are much better off going with a SATA drive and not an IDE drive.

Samsung drives (hard drives and optical drives) don't have the best reputation for reliability and performance. Short life spans and high DOA rates. Best not to use this brand if you want a stable reliable computer you can count on.

Samsung does make great LCD monitors though.
