Just so you know...TigerDirect.com is one of the worst places to buy your computer parts from.

Most of us here use Newegg.com

Using poor quality parts (powersupplies, ram), shady business practices, and piss poor support.

Check out www.zipzoomfly.com, www.directron.com, www.newegg.com.

newegg does not ship to canada, nor does tiger.com as far as I know. Tiger as a .ca site for canada.

www.ncix.com and www.canadadirect.com would be a few better choices for canadians.

Instead of getting a bare bones kit, just pick out all the parts separately...that way you know what you're getting and that the parts are good quality ones.

Most bare bones kits will combine slow selling or unpopular parts together for a very attractive price just so the vendor can get rid of them. Most aren't really good bargains...they're cheap, but often the parts are not matched up well so you get a cheap computer that doesn't perform up to it's potential.

I would get the parts from Newegg.com.

What kind of budget are you working with and what do you want the computer to do?

Without the monitor, mouse, and keyboard, I'm thinking of spending about $600.

Only reason I wanted to buy the barebone was because I heard it was really difficult and risky to install the motherboard by yourself.

Okay...now what kind of computer are you hoping to build? A gaming rig? A business computer? A home multi-media center? A basic all-around computer?

Nah, installing the motherboard is easy. Installing the CPU heatsink is the tricky part.

When building a computer for the first time you just have to do your homework and do as much research as you can before you start and you'll be fine. Start here and then go here.

I'm trying to build a computer for college use: gaming and studying. I want my computer to be fast enough to play such game as F.E.A.R., WoW, Airplane simulator and such.

Nope. The computer I'm currently using is not mine unfortunantly.

So any more comment on the barebone?

like cricket says just buy the parts separately at least then you know the parts are good... also heres a video on barebones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN9RXMqDiVY btw the barebone you picked out is decent but youll need a video card and itll cost your moore than 600 and according to the case it doesnt come with a fan at all and nor does it have a cpu fan also a intel proccessor would be nice

also if you were to build a computer would you be able to pay abit more than 600? i myself would wait for $1k to build a computer that youll wont need to upgrade from a long time
