New build, different purpose
Thank you everyone in advance for your suggestions. I am looking to put a surveilance camera up and would like to record it to a computer hard drive. The hard drive must be big enough to record 24 hours for 7 days. I think I will be running Linux on this to keep cost down, but XP is an option as I have a spare copy. This will be the only purpose of this machine. I have access to a PS, CPU, MB, and RAM. It is older, Athlon XP Thoroughbred, pc2100 (1gig), ASUS board, would have to check the model number. If you think these are sufficient let me know. The other parts needed off the top of my head are the camera, video capture device, case. Please help me with suggestions but also remember price is a factor. Thanks again...
