connects fine to the motherboard, but the blocked pin is in the wrong place, on the cable the 3rd hole is blocked, but on the floppy drive its the second pin thats missing, so it wont plug into the flopy drive?? motherboard is P5b, using floppy cable that came with it and its a sony floppy drive, this usual problem? there an adaptor or am i doing something wrong? did i get a bad floppy drive or a bad cable?

Get another cable/drive
Does it work if you turn the cable around?

Which end do you have the twist on? The twisted end goes to the floppy drive. The stripe on the edge of the cable lines up to pin 1 on the motherboard and the floppy drive.
