Mobo - personally we tend to recommend Asus boards around here, with the P5K being my personal preference at the moment to allow you room for future upgrades.
CPU - Go with an E6600 over the E6700, the jump in price is not worth the jump in performance at all. Also just in case you didn't know, Intel are going to be dropping their prices on some of their processors on July 22nd, so you may want to wait till then and get the processor cheaper (or get a better one at pretty much the same price you are paying now) PSU - XClio is an ok make, but personally for a high end build I would prefer a Corsair HX520 or HX620. MEM - Go with Corsair ValueSelect 2x1GB sticks instead of the Patriot. HD - I would go with a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 drive for their reliability and also 5 year warranty they offer. Heat Sink - The stock heatsink and fan will be fine unless you plan on overclocking this machine. Also what is your total budget for this build? |

Thanks for the advice. The budget for this machine is around $1200. I am very much looking into the future for this build, but need a new machine asap.

If you get the Corsair 520 Watt PSU buy.com has it cheaper: http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-520w...203270716.html . And if you sign up for a Google Checkout account and use it you get an additional $10 off. But beware of Mail In Rebates because they can void warranties. I purchased a 520W Corsair PSU from buy.com recently and they seem like a good company. Mine shipped from Illinois. Get a Seagate 7200.10 Series Hard Drive with 16MB Cache. Get Corsair Valueselect DDR2 667. For the DVD burner make sure you get the retail version so that you get the burning software included. For the OS get the OEM version for system builders. And the stock Heatsink/Fan Assembly is fine unless you are doing some major overclocking. Enjoy your build!
