How does this build sound for a gaming rig?

Asus M2N-E MoBo
Antec 900 Case
Evga 8800gtx 768
320GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10
DVD-ROM (Sony) Retail
4 GIG XMS2 Ram
Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Proc
Corsair 520 PSU
Vista premium 64 bit
Missing anything? Would this work together very well? Can anyone make it cheaper? LoL

I still hear mixed reviews on Vista and Vista 64 for a gaming rig but expect that to be worked out soon and the 64 does allow you to utilize the 4 gigs of ram. My other concern would be temperatures, not sure how hot the 5600s run, but with that processor and video card you will be producing a lot of heat and may want to look at some after market solutions? My last AMD build ran pretty hot but I also had it in a less than optimal case so not really sure how that will all come together, the air flow in the 900 is suppose to be excellent and cooling might not be a problem at all. My current rigs are getting old and out of date to really compare with newer rigs. What was the total cost?

What is your budget?
Have you considered the Intel Core2Duo? They're the best bang for the buck right now, and they're set for a price drop on the 22nd of the month.

Get a LiteOn retail optical drive; they make the Sony models anyway. A retail SATA drive will work well with modern motherboards, and comes with software.

Very true. Not using the stock cooler also voids the CPU warranty.
