quick question..prolly a silly one

Will a crossfire enabled motherboard still be compatible with an nvidia graphics card?
EVEN THOUGH i will not be using two graphics cards..

i'm planning on a building a computer with a 5600+ processor, ASUS M2R32-MVP motherboard, and a 8800GTS video card
also, which manufacture should i buy XFX, eVGA, or BFG?
