PSU question on build
If I purchase the 8800GTS 320MB it suggests a 12V@26A and this 520w Corsair PSU has 3 rails that only put out 12V1@18A each is that not going to be enough? The only thing that has me lost on my build is the PSU...

You add the rails together which gives 54A on the 12v rail.

That is what I was thinking you would do but I thought I would ask to make sure.
Since it suggests 26A can I just add 2 together so its 36A instead of all 3, wouldn't 54A be too much since it only suggets 26A? when the specs for a video card says they recommend a PSU of 24 amps or better on the 12v rail, they are asking about the total current the PSU can provide to the whole computer on the 12v rail.
The computer will only draw the amount of power it needs, the rest is in reserve for high power demands such as in a game. |
