Done, Running, but no Internet

Hm, yeah. Well! I'm pretty excited, my first build is COMPLETE. I have Windows XP installed, the drive works, Video Card is recognized, etc, etc, etc. Everything is working. Installed drivers off of EVGA's CD.

But, now... now I'm trying to basically get everything situated and updated online, recent drivers, etc. And, well... the Ethernet will not work.

I have heard something on the reviews of this motherboard that the LAN port will stop working. Is this the Ethernet port? And then something about it will die after a certain FSB is reached? Well... I don't know anything about that, but right now I'm just hoping that if it is, it can be fixed, or it's just something I have to do.

If it is something I have to do: does anyone know? I've tried going into IE, nothing, and then I try using the Internet Connection Wizard that comes with XP, and it says it can't connect.

I plug it in this computer, the Ethernet works perfectly, but into the other computer, and it doesn't.

Can anyone help, please?

*Really hopes he doesn't have to buy a new mobo* ._.

The ethernet/Lan port may need to be enabled in the BIOS and the drivers for the LAN need to be loaded from the motherboard CD. Check in the Device Manager for any exclaimation points next to network adapters.

Please post the complete system specs for your computer when asking for help.

Did you look in Device Manager to see if the ethernet port is even shown?

And note whether or not you're using 64-bit windows or 32-bit windows. I am using XP Pro 64-bit edition, and my motherboard required special drivers. Windows update actually detects the 32-bit drivers when I run it, so I also have to be careful not to accidentally install those false drivers.
