It is possible, but you would have to cut corners and use poor quality components.
Extend your budget by around $150 - $200, and you would be getting nearer a 'quality' build. Some things you should not buy cheap are: 1.PSU 2.Motherboard 3.Memory HTH Deuce

i too suggest to extend the budget
when u mean by computer u mean with out a monitor and keyboard and mouse right? think if you could recycle anything on your old computer if it is yours u could recycle like hard drive cd drive and dvd burner and such? if u do decide to spend more money get a 8800gts 320mb this will give you more time b4 ull need another upgrade ![]() since those games havent come out yet its kinda hard what components you may need. perhaps you should wait till they come out. bioshock has released their system requirements but doesnt have all the details yet such as what processor it recommends. all it says is core 2 duo. its says that you need like a 2.5 pentium processor but i suggest a core 2 duo. speaking of core 2 duo's on july 22nd there will be a massive price cut on them and new ones will be put on market considering waiting for it JUST 2 MORE DAYS WOOT! ^^

You can build a relatively cheep system that will play current games at reasonable speeds, but planning for the future is hard to do at a low cost. Those future games you list are big questions as to how they will preform on lower end systems which is why people build gaming machines at the top. You also have to figure vista in the equation for 10x games and just running that operating system will use more resources.
Whatever you decide, just be sure to pick parts that will be easy to upgrade. Get a quality MB that can handle the larger and newer CPUs and a quality PSU that has some headroom. That way if when the new games arrive and your system can not handle it all you need to do is pop in a faster CPU, better video card, and maybe a bit more ram. You can avoid having to build new again. Those upgrades will cost you but perhaps at some future date you will be better able to afford them. Kat |
