New Call Center Build and General Questions

Hey, This is Matt our in Honolulu. We're expanding our call center and I'm about to build a second machine to handle the VoIP. Here are the Specs on my next build:
  • Thermaltake Kandalf VD4000BWS Black Chassis: 1.0mm SECC Front door: Aluminum ATX / BTX Tower Computer Case - Retail
  • MSI P6N Diamond LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Motherboard - Retail
  • EVGA 640-P2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail
  • Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80562QX6700 - Retail
  • G.SKILL 4GB (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ - Retail
  • Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFDRTL 150GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - Retail
  • 2 ViewSonic Optiquest Series Q20WB Black 20" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor - Retail
  • SAMSUNG 18X DVD±R DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write, LightScribe Technology Black SATA Model SH-S183L - OEM
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional With SP2B 1 Pack - OEM

But here's my delima... I don't know anything about DDR3 Ram or the new 45nm chipset.

I want to maximize the amount of simultaneous instances of Skype that I can run without sacrificing quality. Since that is primarily determined by Proc and Ram, then I would imagine that this new technology may be able to offer better performance.

So whats the deal with the new 45nm CPU?

And What's up with DDR3 Ram?

Will they allow me to support more simultaneous instances of skype calls?

Should I buy in to this technology or is there a chance that it would be unstable to start? Buggy?

Thanks for your feedback, I was actually just about to buy the above configuration when I found out about the new chipset...

I'd stick with the DDR2. It's the quantity of RAM, not the speed, that will determine how much can be going at once.

Any particular reason you are using a $280 case? Seems you can save quite a bit with a cheaper case...

I'd go for one of the new ASUS P5K boards, with a P35 chipset. Since you are only using one video card (doesn't seem like you'd need two either) that would work for probably $100 less.

I don't know a whole lot about the 45nm CPU's, but I believe the word is they will be supported by the P35 chipset boards. I wouldn't wait around for them though. If you need a new computer now, what you've got there is VERY powerful.
