2ND Build

Hi, this isn't my first time I custom built my computer but the last time I did was back in 2002, But of course now there are so many new stuff.

This is My List ( I already have a mouse, keyboard, speakers n woofers)

-------------------------------------START OF LIST-------------------------------------------------------

PC Case

APEVIA X-Navigator ATXA8NW-AL/500 Silver/Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply
---

Hard Drive

SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive X2
---
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152052

DVD-ROM Drive (RETAIL)

ASUS Black 2MB Cache SATA DVD Burner with LightScribe
---
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135146
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ASUS Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA DVD-ROM Drive Model DVD-E616A3T
---
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135143

Processor

Intel Xeon 3060 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor
---
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819117104

Motherboard

ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
---
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131071

Memory

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
---
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146565

Video Card:

EVGA 320-P2-N815-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card
---
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130038

-------------------------------------END OF LIST---------------------------------------------------------

My question is that; Is the RAM, Processor and the Mobo compatible with each other?
I do know about the E6600, but after researching the xeon 3060, I learned that its server grade and can take a little more beating. Also I was thinking of the using the "Asus P5K3 Deluxe";
Asus P5K3 Deluxe Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131181

Then I read in multiple reviews and on newegg reviews that the EVGA 8800GTS would block 2 SATA ports on the "Asus P5K3 Deluxe". Also having a Wifi AP will save me from buying a AP.

Another concern I have is with all these items I will have yet another WD 250 GB drive and a 80GB as C: (LOL I have lots to store). I will be using a 550W PSU (Can the 550W Handle All this?), there is a combo deal with the crucial memory that I can get a 800W PSU with it for a $50 savings.

PSU Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817190016 (Is this a good PSU, no reviews on it)

Thank you for taking your time to read this and helping me out.

EDIT: OR should I go for "ASUS P5K DELUXE" (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131182) with "E6750 Conroe" (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...E16819115029)?

Welcome to PCMech. I have a few suggestions.

First, do not use the Apevia power supply. They are poor quality. The 800w Xion is also a junker. I'd look at something from Corsair. The 620 fits the bill: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=corsair%2b620

Samsung drives are not the best quality. Swap those out for Seagates instead.

Your Asus DVD Burner doesn't show any software in the photo, even though Retail units usually have it. Might want to check on that or swap it for a LiteOn unit; they have Nero.

I'd stick with the Asus P5K or P5K Deluxe. The P5K3 uses DDR3 memory, which is too expensive and too slow right now. Take a look at the Q6600, great price and quad-core is much more future proof then any dual core.

machinesheart: yeah but now i am having second thoughts as to keep the current set up or go with the ASUS P5K DELUXE and E6750 Conroe as the FSB is 1333 MHz.

.

All righty, So I am gona buy the PSU you recomended also the quad-core is to expensive for me right now. I am gona go with ASUS P5K DELUXE and the E6750.

As for software, i am not too much worried I have Nero 7 on Disc.

Now for the hard drive, gona swap the 2 samsung's with (2) 500gb seagates;

so its all good?

Final List:
Tower without PSU: APEVIA X-PLEASURE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811144128
---

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827135143
---
Processor: C2D E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115029
---
Mobo: ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131182
---
Memory: Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146565
---
Video: EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130038

Ok now I just need a confirmation that all this will be Compatible with each other (Processor, Mobo and RAM). Also I will be adding my own 250 GB and a 80GB to this setup so is the 620W enough or go for a 700W? Thanks.

Looks like a winner to me. That Corsair PSU is very well made, it can handle that system.
