I need help!!!!!

I purchased a new motherboard, cpu, case ,power supply, memmory to build my son a computer. This was my 3rd. build so I know what I'm doing. Put it together fired it up and all was well for about 2 days then it shut down. It would start but no signal to the moniter. Ipull MB & CPU and put in one out of another system that was working great. Fired it up and all was well for a few hrs. then it shut down. Same problem,no signal to moniter. The only thing in this build that is the same as the first is the case, I even tried the power supply out of the system that I pulled the MB & cpu so I know it was working.Didn't help. Could it be the case? Its the only thing that I have not replaced. Could it be causing a short or something?

HELP.

First of all could you please list all of the parts and specs to the build that you are working with, it will give us more to go by - -

Did you try using a different power supply, it sounds to me like a Power Supply issue.

First off though if you have not tried it yet, use a different PS than you where using originally. If you are using a Power Supply that is not large enough for the components the computer will shut off if the PS gets overheated or cannot draw enough power.

The case is a possilbity, it might be grounding your motherboards. Make sure that you have all the brass standoffs in place on the motherboard tray. try doing an out of case boot and see if the setup runs with any shut downs.

Try this troubleshooter and let us know what happens.

And please post the complete specs for this computer. List the parts by brand and model including the power supply.
