Case is fine
Hard drive is fine, i like Western Digital though. Monitor is fine video card is fine Rosewill PSU's are cheap. And spending less than $50 on a PSU when the system total is $1800 is not smart. Go with an Antec or Fortron Source power supply. I'd also go with a PSU thats like 600Watts. This Antec NeoPower is good or this Fotron Source Don't get Gskill RAM get Corsair For the motherboard go with the Asus P5B or P5K CPU is fine Last edited by Chazell29; 08-07-2007 at 03:12 PM. |

The E670 is cheaper, but newer and faster. Don't ask me why

Is there anything else that I will need to put this thing together? Does it come with fans? And a heatsink to go over the processor? I mean like is there ANYTHING that I dont have here except for the tools that I will need? I.E. Supplies?

cpu comes with hest sink and fan. If you are up to it i would get some isopropylic alcohol and get the stock thermal past off of the heat sink and use arctic silver. You can get it on new egg.

I'd actually leave the pre-applied thermal paste alone. Yes, Arctic Silver is probably superior, but real world gains would be negligable (2-3degrees), and unimportant if the processor isn't going to be overclocked. Technically, removing it also invalidates the warranty on the retail-boxed processor.

I would switch that PSU to the Corsair 520 Watt. It has 3 12V rails just like the Antec, but costs a lot less: http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-520w...203270716.html - I bought mine from there and they seem like a good company. I believe you get charged sales tax if you live in CA, not sure where you live. It is $25 cheaper than newegg and it has free shipping. If you create a google checkout account and pay with it, it is only $90 for a $125+ high quality Seasonic made PSU.
I am using a 19" version of that Samsung Monitor at this location and it is great. I would highly recommend that line of monitors. If you switch to the the P5K - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131180 - (new version of the P5B) then you can get the newer, cheaper, better, E6750 CPU (as mentioned by others): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...5029&Tpk=E6750 You can go with Vista if you think you will like it. However, a lot of people around here are going to wait until it gets some service pack(s) before buying it. Those speakers look nice. I would see if you can find them cheaper elsewhere. They seem pretty expensive. Looks like the makings of a nice computer! I would really try to squeeze an 8800GTX into the build if possible. It would be a shame to spend ~$1800 for a gaming build and not get the best video card available, imho: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130072 . You should be set for supplies. If you need something you can always run out and get it. You might want to get some zip ties to organize the wires in the PC after you build it, but other that that I can't think of anything that you need to get. Beware, newegg Mail In Rebates viod your warranty for that part. Personally, I wouldn't recommend sending them in. Enjoy your build!
