Um, that one funky motherboard...$300 for a "gaming mothergboard" is alot also. I'd swap that out for an Asus P5B or P5K, they are the most highly recommended boards on the forum at the moment. Unless anyone knows anythign else about that board...plus don't spend the money on SLI, especially if your not going to use it. also, members dont'r eally recommend SLI or crossfire here.

Go with a Lite-On CD/DVD burner with lightscribe. Samsung drives are iffy.

For the RAM, go with Corsair.

Seen alot of expensive spenders latly...

Chaz =)

Yeah, its got good reviews and 250+, if you really want to spend that kind of money, I'd say go for it.

Wait for some of the 1,000+ posters to post, they know this stuff the most. I just would never spend $300 on a motherboard.

Also, if your spending this much money, get a better case. Get an Antec or a Lian Li, or the NZXT Apollo is a pretty good case.

I have a few suggestions in addition to Chazell's comments.

The Asus Striker is a great board, but I think it is overkill. SLI in general is not recommended. One powerful card, such as the Geforce 8800 you have listed, is plenty of power for any game out there. Check out the Asus P5K instead. Just because you can afford to buy the most expensive parts doesn't mean you should.

I would suggest dumping the Ageia card. Hardly any games support it and those that can use it, do not make any noticable difference. It is not worth the expense. Your 8800 will turn up the effects in any game, no doubt.

What Operating System do you plan to use? You'll need a 64bit version to use all 4GB of RAM.

You can go with pretty much any case you like, just make sure it is large enough to handle the size of that video card.

Ok, in that case your ram choice will work. Just remember that XP will only see between 2.5 and 3.5 GB of ram.

Related to the video card SLI question, put some of your money in the bank (or under your mattress, or wherever you store money :-) and plan to upgrade to the latest and greatest card more frequently. That way you'll be able to keep playing the latest games on the highest settings.

Case selection is entirely personal choice, but more space is always better (unless you're worried about having to transport the pc; then bigger isn't better). A Full tower is as big as they come, so there'll be plenty of room for whatever you want.
