Just Built New PC - Need Troubleshooting Help

Hi all, I recently decided to build my own pc. This is my second build, so I wouldnt consider myself a beginner, but I am my no means an expert. Here is my gear:

MB: ASUS P5B DELUXE P965 775
PS: ANTECSP-500 RET
Proc - Intel Core Duo 2
Video - EVGA 8800GTS
RAM - 2x1gb

I thought I installed everything correctly. Fans were blowing, everything seemed powered up. I was using a hard drive that had a previous install of Vista on it. It loaded up, I put in my Vista cd and reinstalled. After the installation, Vista rebooted. Here lies my problem. I no longer get any video/display and my Hard drive doesnt look like its moving. I double checked all the connections and the fans are moving. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

Try this: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=168456

You must take the motherboard out of the case to eliminate possible shorting/grounding issues.

Wow, well that worked. Is it simply a grounding/shorting issue?

Possibly! Before you put it back in the case check your standoffs and make sure your mobo is only touching what it is suppose to touch. Check the manual. Install it carefully and do your post test again. If everything still works start adding in your other componets one by one.

Before you put it back in the case, hook all the drives back up and put all the ram in, and see if it still works. If so, then follow Katreat's directions regarding putting the board back in. You probably don't want to have to take everything out of the case again, so make sure everything's working before you put it in.
