Please list all components, including brand and rating of you rPSU.

Which model of P5W did you get? (P5W DH, P5WD2, deluxe, premium, etc).

Most likely cause: either the board doesn't support that processor at all, or you need a BIOS upgrade to support it. Here's the ASUS cpu compatibility page: http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/c...Language=en-us

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say mainly becuase of the front side bus?

I'm not too hot on this but even Asus' best P5W that i can see on the website i'm using (P5W64-WS Pro Intel 975X) has a 1066mhz FSB, your using the new E6750, whcih has 1333FSB, does it declock or will that be the cause for why its not booting up properly?

The FSB mis-match will cause it not to boot. (FSB isn't like ram that can just slow itself down).

The question now becomes, is it fixable with a BIOS update (some of the P5Ws on the ASUS site are) or is it a hardware problem (some models can't do it regardless.)

According to the compatibility page I linked to, that board supports the E6750 starting with BIOS 2104. You'll need to purchase a cheap compatible processor to flash the BIOS with. The cheapest cpu on newegg that is listed as supported in 'all' bioses is fine.

Do you think it will boot enough to do the flash with the current CPU? Yeah, it probably won't support 1333 FSB CPU's out of the box because of their newness...

The drivers on the motherboard CD are probably for XP, For Vista, you need to go to the Asus website to see if they have Vista drivers for that board.
